THE JOURNEY OF NEW BEGINNINGS!

Most people are are familiar with the Easter season. There are egg hunts, lots of pastel colors, chocolate bunnies, and more! But behind all of those fun traditions is an incredible story of a man named Jesus, who suffered, died, and, three days later, rose to life so that we could experience freedom, joy, and an abundant life on this side of eternity. Easter is about Jesus giving you and me a brand new start - a new beginning! And it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’ve been, it’s God’s gift for you.

Holy Week is the observance of the events that led Jesus on the journey to resurrection for the whole world. Over the course of a week, Jesus experiences betrayal, a trial, suffering, and death. But, then, Sunday comes and Jesus walks out of the tomb, which changes everything! Our story of brokenness changes into a story of redemption through Jesus.

This is why we want to welcome and invite you to join us for any of our Holy Week experiences in-person or online as well as our Easter Sunday worship so that you can celebrate and experience renewal, redemption, and resurrection!! Now is the time to embrace your new beginning!

Sunday, March 24 at 10:45 a.m. and 11:05 A.M

All throughout the season of Lent we have been following Jesus’ ministry, which shows and models for us what God’s love looks like being lived out. All of Jesus’ ministry prepares him for his ultimate sacrifice and expression of God’s love. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the events that lead Jesus to fulfilling God’s promises of redemption and new life. As Jesus enters into the city of Jerusalem during an important religious festival, everyone begins to celebrate God’s work through Jesus by shouting “Hosanna” and waiving palm leaves. This is how this Sunday has earned its name.

We want to invite you to join us for either our Traditional Worship (Sanctuary) at 11:05 AM, Contemporary Worship (Family Life Center) at 10:45 AM, or Online Worship experiences as we celebrate "the one who comes in the name of the Lord," our Savior, Jesus! Jesus’ loving obedience to the Father teaches us how to live out and celebrate God’s promises. It’s going to be a wonderful service and we can’t wait for you to join and participate with us!

In addition, a fun component of Palm Sunday is to wave palms as part of the opening to this worship experience. To translate this experience through our online worship services, you can download and print out a palm leaf for you or your little ones! You can wave these “palms” in celebration in your own home!

It may be fun to take pictures or video of your children waving their palms and sending them to our Director of Family Ministries, Hope Lewellen, as well as posting them online!

Thursday, March 28,2024

As we reflect on Jesus' days leading up to the cross, Holy Thursday or Maundy Thursday is traditionally the time when we remember Jesus' last supper with his disciples. Not only do Jesus and his disciples share this sacred meal together, but Jesus also models humility and servitude through the act of washing his disciples’ feet.

We invite you to join us in a family friendly virtual service by clicking on the button below. Invite family to worship together.

Friday, March 29, 2024 from 6:30 p.m. for Unified Service

in the Sanctuary(Childcare provided)

Good Friday is the observance of Jesus’ betrayal, trial, and suffering and death on the cross. After Jesus’ last supper with his disciples, he is betrayed and handed over to the Roman authorities for trial in which religious leaders demand that Jesus be killed. Ultimately, the religious leaders are granted their desire and Jesus carries his own cross, to which he will be nailed and suffer before dying. As you can imagine, this worship service is a somber one. We are meant to reflect and remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us all.

Sunday, March 31 at 10:45 A.M. and 11:05 a.m.

Following Jesus’ death, on the third day, he rises and walks out of the tomb alive and well! Jesus’ resurrection signals to us a new beginning! No longer does our story end in death but, instead, extends into new life in Christ. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead extends to us so that we can experience freedom, joy, and an abundant life on this side of eternity. Easter Sunday is about celebrating Jesus giving you and me a brand new start! And it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’ve been, it’s God’s gift for you.

Join us for either our Traditional Worship (Sanctuary) at 11:05 AM, Contemporary Worship (Family Life Center) at 10:45 AM, or Online Worship experiences on Easter Sunday to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus! Sin and death have been defeated and we walk in our redemption and new life with Christ! We’re so excited to celebrate with you and enter into the Resurrection season together!!

What’s next?

Did you know Easter is more than just one day? Easter is a whole season and way of life. That’s why were are called into living the Resurrection. The more we live into our new life in Christ the more we find and fulfill all we are called to be and become. As we live out the Resurrection, our life-story becomes a part of the greater, ongoing Easter story that is still unfolding today. As we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, we know that the tomb is empty and we are invited to live like it!
