UMW Brown Bag Lunch and Learn

Mountain Park United Methodist Women would like to invite everyone to a mission study titled "What About Our Money".  It will be held in the Family Life Center on September 14 during the hours of 9-1.  A continental breakfast and registration will begin at 8:30.  Everyone is asked to bring a Brown Bag Lunch and the United Methodist Women will supply drinks and desserts for the occasion.

Rev. Dr. Varlyna Wright will be the facilitator for the study. We will discuss all aspects of how money is handled personally and within the church environment.  Please participate in an event that will be both enjoyable and informative. To register go to http://bit.ly/UMWLunchLearn.

Planning for the future is hard when you’re still paying for the past! Listen—there’s a better way! Join our Financial Peace University group, and we’ll learn how to beat debt and make a plan for the future, together! Interested? Join us on starting Wednesday, September 11.

SIGN UP for this "FLEX" version of the class here: https://www.fpu.com/1092900

FLEX GROUPS are especially helpful for members and coordinators with busy schedules! These groups watch the video lessons on their own, but gather to recap the videos and go through activities and discussion questions together. In Flex Groups, members watch the video lessons on their own online before coming to the group meeting. Flex Groups usually meet for 45–60 minutes for each lesson, each week. When the group meets, members watch a short recap video of the lesson and move right into the Activity and more discussion questions than the Traditional Group offers. Before the next group meeting, members will complete the Action Steps and watch the next lesson's video.

Feel free to message Leigh Snyder (leighsnyder587@gmail.com) with any questions. Childcare is available for all ages."

Lunches of Love is a mission of Mountain Park United Methodist Church in conjunction with Action Ministries’ Smart Lunch, Smart Kid program. Since 2013 Lunches of Love has served over 100,000 lunches through the distribution center at Mountain Park United Methodist Church. The lunches are given to children in the Stone Mountain area who receive free/reduced lunches during the school year. For some of these children, it is the only food they will eat that day.

Throughout the summer, we will pack lunches Monday through Friday, 9:30a.m. - 10:45a.m, in the Community Room of our Family Life Center building. Those volunteering to deliver lunches should plan to arrive at 10:15 a.m. and will return to the church by 1 p.m.

For additional information please email lunches@mountainparkumc.org or call Cheryl Mitchell at (770) 329-1942.
