Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre

 Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre

For those of you who like to have fun, a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre is coming to Mountain Park UMC in just a few more weeks.

SETTING THE SCENE: “The Charity” has asked to hold a Fund-Raising Dinner and Auction in our Family Life Center, which will include a display of the Tsarina’s Jewels on tour by the Russian Department Tourism. The auctions, both a silent auction and a live auction are real, and will benefit CX Creative Spaces, only the “The Charity” and the people supposedly holding the fundraiser are fiction.

Enjoy a delicious menu with options like Chicken, Roast Beef, or Vegetarian dishes, along with a tempting dessert. Don’t forget to bring your wallets for the cash bar.

THE PLOT THICKENS: During the course of the evening a body will be found. The question then becomes was it a murder, and if so, who is it, and more importantly who did it. If you think you can figure it out, be sure to buy a ticket and try out your investigative talents.

BEHIND THE SCENES: There will also be a VIP Mocktail Reception at 5:30pm before the dinner at which time you will be able to see close-up some of the Jewels, and you will have an opportunity to meet several members of the cast.

New Study | The Church and the Racial Divide (Week #1 of 6)

New Tuesday Evening Bible Study

Our society is rife with divisiveness and segregation and although race is the most prominent divisor, there are myriad more – social structures such as wealth, education, politics, religion.

But what does the Bible have to say about unity and justice? Join Susan Kemeter and Leslie Harris as leaders/moderators for a six-session bible study, on Tuesday evenings from 6:00–8:00pm beginning September 9, 2025. We will be using Trevor Atwood's book, The Church and the Racial Divide: Faith, Reconciliation, and the Pursuit of Justice, as a guide for discussion. Study guides will be provided for you.

On the weekend following the close of this bible study, there will be a musical and discussion program led by Dr. David Walters, focusing on songs of protest and reconciliation. Please use the link here to sign up.
