Experiencing and expressing the loving presence of God.

“When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”
— Matthew 18:19-20, MSG

One of our primary values at Mountain Park UMC is engaging worship. As a result, we strive “to gather to build Christian community,” which encourages us to imagine new, relevant ways for us to worship and to be intentional in engaging with our surrounding community. We are free to expand our understanding of what “gathering” for worship can and could look like as God seeks to take action in all of our lives. Imagine when disciples of Christ gather in all areas of life and our neighborhoods to build Christian community as we worship God daily. We can gather in our homes, in coffee shops, in restaurants, at gyms and yoga studios, at sporting events, and even more places that God may call us to gather in our day-to-day lives to begin building relationships with new faces in new places.

One of the primary ways we worship together is on Sundays. We gather collectively as one church, which can be experienced in various styles. Learn more below about what we offer to help you and your family find your place with us.

Traditional Worship

We have “traditional” worship in our Sanctuary on Sundays at 11:05 a.m. where we sing beautiful, sacred hymns accompanied by choirs, organ, piano, and other instruments. Song lyrics, prayers, and other liturgy are viewable on our screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable.

Contemporary Worship

Our “contemporary” worship experience in our Family Life Center on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. has more modern music and modern hymn arrangements accompanied by vocalists, keyboard, guitars, drums, and other various instruments.

Song lyrics, prayers, and other liturgy are viewable on our screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable

Worship in the “Park”
(K-5th graders)

Kids Worship in the Park (or WIP) is for those children in Kindergarten- 5th grade and meets every Sunday morning during the morning worship services, except for the first Sunday of the month. WIP provides a place for kids to worship and develop a growing relationship with Jesus. Students help to lead the service through songs, reading scripture, offering prayers, and even writing some of the liturgy. The service is aligned with other worship services so that families may continue the discussion at home. The first Sunday of the month is reserved for family worship and we invite families to worship together in one of our worship services.

Questions? Reach out to Hope Lewellen to learn more.
