Seniors Are Special | Lunch & Program

SENIORS ARE SPECIAL: The next SAS meeting is on Thursday, June 4, in the Youth Room at 11:30am. Lunch will be served at 12:00pm. The cost is $9.00/person paid at the door.

Lunch menu:

  • chicken salad sandwiches

  • potato soup

  • salad

  • peach cobbler

  • lemonade, sweet or unsweet tea

Our speaker will be Hannah Shultz from Georgia Interfaith Power & Light (GIPL) who will speak to us on practical ways we can make meaningful impact on our environment and how that connects to our Christian faith.

Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (GIPL) inspires and equips communities of faith to organize, implement practical climate solutions, and advocate across Georgia on issues of climate change, environmental justice, and community resilience.

Twice the Pie Competition

Pi + Pi = TWICE THE PIE: We are excited to announce a Tau Day celebration on Sunday, June 28 at 2:00pm in the FLC! While π is approximately 3.14, τ (Tau) equals 2π, or 6.28. To celebrate this mathematical constant, we are hosting a "Twice the Pie" contest. Each entry must submit two pies along with the recipe and be present to serve their entries for attendee voting. Ice cream will be provided, and there is a surprise prize for the winner! Tickets are $20, with all proceeds benefiting the Honduras Mission. Please contact Pastor Millie at: millie.kim@mountainparkumc.org if you are interested in submitting your pies or assisting with the event!

ENTERING THE CONTEST:
It is free to submit pies to the contest. This is an all ages event!
Pie entries shall be standard pie size (9-12 inch, 1.25 - 1.5 Depth).
This is a “sweet” pie contest only. Absolutely no pizza, quiche, mincemeat, or shepherd’s pie!

VOTING:
To vote for your favorite pies, you must be a $20 ticket holder, even if you are a contestant.
Contestants are not permitted to vote for themselves.

TICKETS:
$20 tickets include tasting and voting.

Vacation Bible School 2026 (July 6–10)

You’re invited to our Snowball Mountain Challenge with God this summer at Mountain Park UMC! Vacation Bible School is a fun and safe environment for your kiddos with a great, Bible-based curriculum, a variety of activities, and caring adult volunteers who create a great experience for all of our "Challengers."

All VBS participants must be 3 years of age by Sept. 1st, 2026 and potty trained. Please do not attempt to register anyone younger. 2026 5th grade graduates are our oldest participants at VBS.

We have a CHURCH WIDE COOK-OUT coming up, Sunday, May 31!  Mark your calendars, invite a friend or neighbor to church and join us for some grilled hamburgers and hot dogs! All food will be provided. Stone Mountain Chorus "Songs on the Lighter Side" Concert

Enjoy an afternoon of great a cappella harmony with Stone Mountain Chorus and its Barbershop Quartets! Tickets are now available for our Spring Show, “Songs on the Lighter Side!” Under the direction of Rontray Miller II, this show will feature Chorus and Quartets performing songs of wit and whimsy from Barbershop classics to popular songs over the decades, sure to put a smile on your face. We’re coordinating this show with the Spaghetti Fundraiser at the Church, so come early for lunch or stay after for a spaghetti dinner. We are pleased to welcome guest speaker John Goodwin who will introduce a new device that will help the mute speak, the deaf hear, and the blind see with their fingers.
