Finding Jesus on the Journey of Life.
Here at Mountain Park UMC we believe that youth are important members in the family of God and our church. It is our goal to partner with parents in the spiritual formation of youth from 6th - 12th grade and strive to equip parents with the tools they need to support faith development at home. MPUMC Youth Ministry, also known as Crossroads Youth, seeks to teach our youth how to build a life-long relationship with God, as well as how to build lasting relationships with their peers and adult leaders who care about them. Our goal is to teach our youth to “Find Jesus on the Journey,” as we strive to follow the words of Jeremiah 6:16:
“This is what the Lord says: ’Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.’”
Crossroads Youth Ministry works towards this goal by offering a variety of discipleship, worship, and mission opportunities. We are committed to leading all of our programming/experiences with our youth in a safe, nurturing, positive, and fun environment.
We have one Sunday School class for our 6th - 12th grade students, that meets every Sunday throughout the year from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Youth Room.
Our Youth who attend Sunday School have an opportunity to dive deeper into God’s Word and learn more about how to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Our goal for Sunday School is to teach our students how to interpret and apply God’s Word to their daily lives.
Sunday EVENING Dinner and worship:
Our Sunday Night Youth program is for current 6th-12th grade students, and meets every Sunday evening during the school year (except for holidays and special occasions) from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Youth Room.
DINNER 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
WORSHIP at 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Our programs range from worship nights (including youth-led worship), game nights, service projects, activities in the community, and more. We seek to give our students different opportunities on Sunday evenings, focusing specifically on fellowship, discipleship, service, and worship.
