INTERIM ASSISTANT PASTOR

Pastor Laura Booth is a dedicated professional who stands on the words, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7). Laura Booth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a Mental Health Clinician and School Social Worker, Laura spends her day researching for resources and cultivating mental well-being in children and teens.

Laura assists the adolescents and their families with their journey to wholeness (mind, body, and soul).

Previously, Laura was an educator for 16 years in the public school system. Laura is a lifelong educator and learner. She is a graduate of Central State University (BA in Theater), Mercer University (MAT in middle school SS/LA), and the University of Georgia (MSW). She graduated in May 2025 from Columbia Theological Seminary (M.Div.). Laura has 20 years of ministry experience and has served in many leadership roles. Laura is occasionally invited to be a facilitator at mental health forums and church conferences. When Laura is not researching for resources, counseling, or facilitating, she enjoys spending time with her family. Laura has been married to Barry Booth, a Civil Engineer, for 35 years, and they have five adult children and one grandchild. After serving as a seminary intern, Laura is excited and looking forward to sharing the love of Jesus and the love of community while serving as Interim Assistant Pastor at Mountain Park United Methodist Church.
