STEPHANIE NEWTON

Stephanie has spent more than 30 years sharing her love of music as a choir director and worship leader in United Methodist churches throughout the Atlanta area. With a heart for worship and a gift for bringing people together, she finds joy in creating meaningful, spirit-filled musical experiences that build community.

A lifelong musician, Stephanie began playing piano and singing in church as a child—and by age 12, she was accompanying the choir at her hometown United Methodist church in Kentucky. Her first vocal solo came even earlier, thanks to a determined grandmother who marched her into the pastor’s office for an impromptu “audition”—a moment that set the stage for a lifetime in music.

Stephanie holds a BA in Piano Performance from Transylvania University. Her musical style is shaped by a wide range of influences, from Amy Grant to Billy Joel, Elton John, Patsy Cline, Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Sara Bareilles, Susan Tedeschi, Diana Krall and more. She also has not-so-secret passion for bluegrass and country.

In her professional life, Stephanie serves as Director of Cultural Arts & Tourism and Downtown Manager for the City of Norcross, a role that weaves together her love for the arts and her commitment to community enrichment. She is delighted to serve as Interim Worship Leader at Mountain Park United Methodist Church, and looks forward to collaborating with its pastors, staff, and talented musicians. Stephanie lives in Roswell with her husband. Together, they have three daughters—one a young adult, one in college, and one still in high school at home. Their household is also joyfully ruled by two very spoiled dogs.
