"Gather"

Why Church?_fb coverphoto.jpg

Why Church? Who cares? Great questions! Over the next four Sundays, we’ll be teaching about the purpose and value of church in your life and community. More specifically, this series will be focusing on sharing the heart of Mountain Park UMC. You’ll learn what drives us as a church family, at such a time and place as this, to better connect and serve our surrounding neighborhoods. Together, we’ll be discovering what God is up to in making a real difference in people’s lives. When you or someone asks, “Why Church?” it’s as simple as gathering, growing, going, and giving. Join us to learn more so you can share the heart-beat of MPUMC!

"Submission"

LENT 2019_Letting Go. Going Deeper_fb coverphoto.jpg

During the Lenten season, we encourage you to “Let Go to Go Deeper.” The Lenten season is a time where we inventory our time and commitment to God and create space to strengthen old disciplines or adopt new disciplines that help us grow closer to God. God desires broken people, who are willing to be drawn closer to God. We hope that whatever you “let go” will help you create more room for God and “go deeper” with God in your life. We hope you’ll join us each week as we share different spiritual disciplines that you can practice.

In addition, we will be creating space within our own worship services to help you practice and experience God in these ways. Some disciplines we’ll be looking at are: solitude, service, worship, guidance, and submission. We can’t wait to worship with you in this season of “Letting Go to Go Deeper!"

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE: John 12:1-8

THIS WEEK’S BIG IDEA: Submission allows us to fully receive Christ and give lavishly.
