"Who Needs Peace?"

Path to Peace_fb coverphoto_v2.jpg

When our nation, neighbors, and, yes, even our churches feel more divided than ever, how do we find “peace?” In this series, “The Path to Peace,” we are exploring the topic of finding, receiving, and sharing God’s Peace. God’s Peace doesn’t just happen automatically. It can happen, though, when those who are willing to follow the way of Jesus intentionally move toward the hard, messy, and uncomfortable conversations, issues, and challenges that exist in our broken lives and world. Jesus followers do this in order to foster God’s redemption and, ultimately, bring God’s peace. We hope you’ll join us over the next three weeks as we ask the questions: 1. “Where do we get peace?” 2. “Who needs peace?“ and 3. “How do we share peace?”

This week, Pastor Ellynda shares that Christ didn’t come to save a few but to save everyone and bring peace.

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 (NIV)

THIS WEEK’S BIG IDEA: All of humanity is in need of the Peace only God can give.

Approaching God with a Heart of Worship

Presence_fb coverphoto.jpg

Our life of faith is often greatly energized during our Sunday morning worship experiences. It’s a time to receive as well as a time to give as we encounter God’s presence. And yet, as wonderful as those experiences can be, God desires for our whole lives to give glory to God. It’s always been true that Sunday is just one way we encounter God’s power and presence. Of course, COVID-19 has presented its own challenges to our preferred ways to worship but it has also presented new opportunities. This series will fully equip you to seek God beyond Sunday so that you can experience God anytime, anywhere, anyway. We pray that this series will encourage you to further integrate God’s power and presence into every aspect of your life.

This week, we present a special worship service filled with songs, Scriptures, and prayers as a way of embodying the lessons we’ve learned throughout this series.

Jesus charged his disciples to go out and act out the love of God – to be the “hands and feet” of Jesus sent out to reach people with the God’s love. The celebration of Pentecost reminds us and opens us to the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, which prepares us to “reach-out” into our community. Living this out seems even more challenging with the reality of COVID-19 but we look forward to creatively fulfilling this calling and how “reaching” may look different. You’ll be using your own hand as a teaching tool to remember how we can reach out to our community to “Live Jesus. Love Community,” using what’s known as the “Five Finger Prayer.” We’ll also give you at least one prompt each week to help you reach someone in your neighborhood or community.
