“Therefore... I encourage you to live as people worthy of the call you received from God. Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and patience. Accept each other with love, and make an effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties you together. You are one body and one spirit, just as God also called you in one hope. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, who is over all, through all, and in all.”
BRIDGE BUILDING
The work of Christ’s reconciliation in our lives brings us closer to God and closer to one another in unity with God’s Spirit. It’s the work God has done and continues to do but we are also active participants in helping make God’s vision a reality. God chooses to do this work in and through us both individually but also corporately as Christ’s body, the Church. We continue to rely on God’s power as we commit ourselves to “accept[ing] the freedom and power God gives [us] to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves.” (The Services of the Baptismal Covenant of The United Methodist Church from the Book of Discipline)
Below are the groups forming to intentionally embody and share this ongoing work.
