What will I experience in a service?

When you join us for worship in-person or online, we pray that you will have an encounter with God’s presence that will inspire, transform, and speak to your life!

What is the atmosphere like on Campus?

Whether online or in-person, Sundays at Mountain Park UMC are excitingcasual, and welcoming. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest when you step foot on our campus or watch online.

You can also expect our in-person worship experiences to be safe! We have details about our safety guidelines and church policies here.

We want to develop and nurture a grace-filled worshipping community that provides inspiring, meaningful, transformational, open, responsive, and sacred worship experiences that connects new people to God, to each other, and to our community. In addition, aesthetics, art, music, and creativity are critical components of our services.

What is the Preaching like?

During the services, one of our pastors will share an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus that you can apply to your life.

Throughout the year, we have several worship “series” that focus on various aspects of our lives to help you grow in your relationship with God.

You can view some of our recent worship services with our pastors’ preaching here.

What about my kids?

We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week - and at Mountain Park UMC, we make this a priority!

The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our MPUMC programs the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself an extra ten minutes to get signed in for the Mountain Park Kids experience.

Kids Ministry worship is offered during the 11 a.m. worship services for K-5th grade. (except on first Sundays which are Family Sundays, where you and your family are welcome to join the worship service of your choice, i.e. Traditional Worship in our Sanctuary or Contemporary Worship in our Family Life Center)

We also offer nursery care for infants through 2 year olds. In addition, 6th through 12th graders are encouraged to worship with their families in the service of your choice.

Who is on Your leadership and staff?

We have a group of faith-filled, loving leadership and staff who are excited and called to serve you and our community week-in and week-out. We hope to lead others in a saving relationship with Jesus and help them grow their understanding and practice of a thriving life of faith.

How Does this church serve the community?

Mountain Park UMC seeks to fulfill its mission by “connecting our communities with Jesus to transform lives.” We accomplish this by equipping individuals and our serve teams to love and serve all people in Jesus’ name in our daily living and through regular service events and programs. In addition, we form vital partnerships with organizations that are helping make a difference both locally and globally.

HOW DOES THE CHURCH ENGAGE IN JUSTICE?

Living out our faith means putting it into practice. Transformation comes through the saving, reconciling work of Jesus Christ, both personally and socially. Jesus calls us to serve the least, forgotten, marginalized, and oppressed. This means we have to name and address the brokenness of the world in concrete ways to join God in bringing healing, redemption, and restoration for all. At Mountain Park UMC, we seek to open ourselves to the possibilities this might present both in and around our surrounding communities.

HOW DOES THE CHURCH SERVE THE LGBTQUIA+ COMMUNITY?

Mountain Park UMC has a dedicated group of members known as Agape Reconciling Community (ARC), who are leading opportunities to educate the needs of the LGBTQUIA+ community and serve them accordingly.

How does the church facilitate racial reconciliation?

Mountain Park UMC has a growing group of members, who utilize “Be the Bridge” resources as a catalyst for learning more about this issue and how to engage in helpful and healthy ways. We recognize the range of ethnic diversity in our surrounding communities and want to reflect that diversity within our congregation.

We hope we were able to answer some of your questions!
