Building a foundation of faith.

At Mountain Park UMC we believe that children are important members in the family of God and our church. It is our goal to partner with parents in the spiritual formation of children from birth through 5th grade and strive to equip parents with the tools they need to support faith development at home.

Mountain Park wants to help children know and build a relationship with a kind and loving God. We want children to get to know and learn about the Bible. We want our children to learn what it means to have a servant heart. We want to empower children to express their faith and be leaders in our congregation and community. MPUMC Kid’s Ministry works towards these goals by offering a variety of discipleship, worship, and mission opportunities. We are committed to leading all of our programming/experiences in a safe, nurturing, positive, and fun environment.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered for children from the age of 2 years (as of September 1 of the program year) through 5th grade. Our classes meet on Sundays from 9:45 a.m. - 10:35 a.m.: 2, 3, and 4 year olds gather in the Preschool Hallway, while K-5th meet in the Park by the upstairs offices.

Children of all ages attending Sunday School have the opportunity to learn about God’s word, faith, and being a witness. Children attending Sunday School will enjoy a variety of activities such as interactive Bible stories, games, crafts, and other engaging activities.

Sunday Morning Nursery Care

The Nursery at MPUMC is offered for our youngest children. The primary focus for our babies (6 weeks to 23 months) is to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing place so that parents can worship freely without worrying about their little one. Two year olds in our nursery care begin to learn about God through simple stories and songs, and also enjoy playtime in a welcoming, nurturing, and safe environment.

Worship in the park

Worship in the Park is for those children in Kindergarten- 5th grade and runs on Sunday mornings during both Contemporary and Traditional Worship (with drop offs and pick ups staggered depending on which service your family attends: click here to see the details of our worship times).

Worship in the Park provides a place for kids to worship and develop a growing relationship with Jesus. Students help to lead the service through songs, reading scripture, offering prayers, and even writing some of the liturgy.

The first Sunday of the month is reserved for family worship and we invite children to worship with their families in one of our services.
