The goal of the Garden is to provide fresh vegetables to the Lilburn Coop. Last year we harvested 350 pounds (or 1750 servings) of vegetables and donated them to the Lilburn Coop. If you would like to help with the Garden please contact Dorothy Kopp, firstname.lastname@example.org.
MPUMC established Mountain Park Academy in Kenya that provides education and meals to over 800 children. Housing for orphans has recently been added. Annually, a group of volunteers travel to Kenya to engage in education and health missions. You can help by pledging $25 a month to sponsor a child which covers school fees, a uniform and two meals a day. You can help by donating funds for supplies, or join us on the next mission trip to Kenya. We are always in search of nurses and other medical personnel to perform annual health checks for the children of Mountain Park Academy in Kenya.
This is an eight day trip where volunteers are involved in light construction and providing Bible School. You can help by donating funds for supplies, or you can come join the Honduras mission team.
The youth participate in approximately three full weeks of mission work every year. They take two weeklong mission trips during the Summer for middle and high school youth, as well as several mission day activities throughout the year for local mission work.
Our church provides a safe and comfortable place to sleep for up to 14 homeless adults and children for one week, twice a year. Three meals a day are also provided when our church is hosting these guests. Volunteers are needed to turn classrooms into bedrooms, move in families, host and prepare meals and sleep overnight at the church.
Heaven’s Helpers works with Gwinnett County Seniors Services as well as friends and neighbors in our community who need assistance with home repairs. Anyone with a desire to help others is welcome to join Heaven’s Helpers. You can work once a month or once a year, no time commitment is required.
Lunches of Love / Smart Lunch / Smart Kid
This program provides free lunches during the Summer, for kids who receive free/reduced lunches during the school year. Over the last two Summers, we have provided over 35,000 lunches to children in the Stone Mountain area. This program continues year round with special deliveries during times of need. The key to this mission’s success is the relationships built between the volunteers and the families we serve. We need volunteers to help with making sandwiches, putting together lunches, planning activities for the kids, driving, making special treats and more! Monetary donations are also always helpful.
The Lilburn Co-Op provides assistance to those in need in our area including food, clothing, rent, and utility assistance. You can help by making donations of food, clothing, household items, and money. Volunteers are also needed to work at the co-op.
Trinity Soup Kitchen
This outreach ministry provides and serves 300 meals for homeless men at Trinity Church twice a year. How can you help? Provide ham and cheese or PB&J sandwiches, or chili. Volunteers are also needed to serve meals.
Mobilized for Ministry
Once a year our church gathers for a day of service in our community. There are typically 15 different outreach activities available for volunteers.
Clipping for a Cause
Through this ministry, food and other items are purchased at a much reduced cost and given to organizations like the Lilburn Co-Op, Family Promise, Lunches of Love, Salt Light Women’s Shelter, and our youth. You can help by saving coupons from the Sunday Paper, clipping and organizing coupons, and shopping.
